The life of Paul was dynamic, powerful, and full of the Spirit. His ministry produced most of the New Testament and the Church will forever rely on his influence. But behind every Paul is a Barnabas, someone who pushed Paul into the spotlight, empowering him to be everything he needed to be for the Kingdom. We too are called to be Barnabas' to others, giving our guidance and support. Pastor Devan talks on the qualities of a mentor that we would do well to emulate.

AD: Friend or Foe?

The Church has often be accused of being haters, judgmental, stiff-necked, and click-ish. We're seen from the outside as a group that can be hard to crack and are inhospitable to those who look and act a little different than us. The hard truth is, more often than not, they're right. The Church has always struggled with this, however, as Pastor Ken points out in this sermon. The early disciples were leery about welcoming Saul into their midst after his previous obsession with destroying the Church. Though some of their concerns were valid, we need to learn from this exchange that a life is never out of reach of the power of God and any can be transformed by His grace. The conversion of Saul was critical in God's mission in reaching the world with the gospel. Through an obvious personal encounter which was confirmed by others, Jesus got a hold of Saul's life and never let go. At one point in our lives we will have to make a decision, as Saul did, about what to do with Jesus.
